Recoleta - Evita Peron's Final Resting Place

Another rainy day we spent at the somewhat disturbing but awesome Recoleta Cemetery, where people still make the pilgrimage to Eva Peron's crypt. We saw these fresh flowers laid at her grave. The gray skies, the rain on our umbrellas seemed like a fitting background as we visited this place where marble angels and gargoyles stand watch.

San Telmo in the rain

San Telmo is the flea market, antique shops, sidewalk cafes and street performers. . . .and even in the rain it was crowded on a Sunday afternoon! We had a great time with Hans and Sash, and this tango street band was fantastic!!

The View from 19G

We moved to Retiro, downtown Buenos Aires. We are enjoying the view, and our weekend guests Hans (who has just visited his vineyard in San Rafael to the west) and his son Sash, who flew in to see his dad from NYC.
Today the four of us are off to explore San Telmo.
