The Artist at Work in Buenos Aires

Mark has been awarded a position as Artist in Residence for the month of June in a beautiful little cabin on the St. Croix river just down from William O'Brien State Park. We will be living there. He will be doing water colors, creating journals out of the flora and fauna in nature. Hopefully this will lead to other Artist in Residence positions. This program is run by the St. Croix River Research Station.
Here in Buenos Aires, Mark is drawing and painting the city, starting with some nice street scenes of the city.

A Student! and A Holiday

We have been hired by an organization called Small World to teach English here in Buenos Aires.
We'll be tutoring individual students, and I(Elizabeth) met my first student, Francisco, on Thursday and
had a two hour lesson with him on Friday. He is about our age, and has very good English, enough so
he can carry on a conversation about politics and philosophy. He is a delight, teaching me a lot about Buenos Aires and
Argentina. He thinks the US is a very successful culture, that this Bush Presidency will go down in the history books as a very black period, but that he sees a change for the better coming soon! Encouraging words!

On another note, we celebrated Easter in San Telmo with the portenos and here are some of the scenes we enjoyed.
